From Chicago, Illinois (Day 4) ...

Hi Emma, Sebbie, and Lizzie!

How are you all doing?

We ended up not going anywhere exciting on Monday. Sometimes when you’re traveling for two months you have to take time to get work done. So Monday we did emails, laundry, and went grocery shopping.

Yesterday we went to the Museum of Science & Industry. It was one of my favorite museums when I was your age. I remember this fairy tale doll house from all the way back then, I was excited to see they still have it on display! It’s designed exactly to scale for a 5” tall doll. It was made for a very wealthy family. The tiny books are actually printed, you can read them! And the chandeliers are made from gold, diamonds, and other gemstones. Can you imagine!? (The pictures are a little blurry because of the glass case protecting the exhibit.)

Have you ever had a day where you are just in a terrible mood? Where everything seems wrong and you feel tired and grumpy all the time? Well that’s how yesterday was for Skye. She didn’t want to go to the museum and she cried a couple of times while we were there. I’ve had days like that too, so I understood. But that meant that we didn’t get to see as much as we otherwise would have.

I still took some pictures for you though, because I thought you’d want to see. They have a lot of full-sized vehicles at this museum, including a train, an airplane, a harvester, and even a REAL submarine!

I have to go to the airport now to pick up Skye’s dad; Eric. He’s flying in this morning and we’ll do some more sightseeing. I’m hoping to get a full size Chicago Dog for lunch too!
